Riffiter is a music rating and review site: Letterboxd, for albums instead of films. If you have been scoring records somewhere else, or scrobbling for a decade, you do not have to start over. Eight sources import into a free account, and most of them take about a minute.

An imported library is where you start rather than where you stop. Once your scores are here they sit on pages that have addresses: every artist and every album has one, so a review you write is something you can send to somebody rather than a screen you have to describe.
The catalog runs deeper than albums. Tracks have their own ratings and reviews. A show you went to gets logged the way a record does, down to the setlist. And because everyone here rates, the site can show you things a single critic cannot, like the albums Riffiter listeners disagree on most or the ones almost nobody has found yet.
FAQ
- How do I import my music ratings into Riffiter?
- Make a free account, open Settings, and pick the source you are coming from under Connections. Last.fm, Musicboard and Apple Music take an account name or a connection and nothing else. RateYourMusic, Discogs and Spotify take a file those sites hand you. Each source has its own page above with the exact steps.
- Do my reviews come over, or only the scores?
- Reviews come with the ratings from RateYourMusic and Musicboard, and land on the album they were written about, ready to edit. The listening sources move plays rather than opinions, so there are no reviews in those to move.
- What happens to an album that isn't in your catalog?
- It gets reported back to you at the end of the run rather than dropped quietly. The catalog fills in on demand as people look things up, so running an import again later matches more of your library. Re-running is safe and never duplicates a rating.
- Can I import from more than one place?
- Yes, and most people should. Ratings and listening history are different things: a rating source tells Riffiter what you think, a listening source tells it what you actually play. Running both is what makes the stats worth reading.
- Can I get my data back out?
- One button in Settings hands back every rating and review in your account as a CSV, on the same scale the imports read. Deleting the account removes the ratings and recomputes the averages they were part of.
- Is any of this paid?
- No. Rating, reviewing, lists, every import on this page and your stats all cost nothing, and none of them sit behind a card.
