A home for music lovers
Riffiter is an independent music rating, logging, and discovery platform — built by a solo developer in Istanbul for people who take what they listen to seriously. Rate it, log it, write about it, and find the people who hear what you hear.
Why this exists
People who love film found their home online. People who love books found theirs. Over the last decade, modern, well-made places grew up around those passions — somewhere to track what you watched or read, rate it, keep lists, and find other people through the things you love. They feel like they were built by someone who actually cared about the medium.
Music never really got that. Which is strange, because of the three, music is the one that became most available. Nearly everything ever recorded is a tap away now; we listen more than ever, in more places than ever. And yet the place to keep all of it — to remember what you played, to say what you thought, to be found by the people who feel the same way about a record — never quite arrived. What existed felt dated, or abandoned, or never really made for the way people listen today.
That gap is the whole reason for Riffiter. It's an attempt to give music the kind of home film and books already have — built with the same care, on current technology, by someone who just wanted it to exist.
Made in Istanbul, by one person
Riffiter is a solo project, made in Istanbul. No team, no investors steering it, no advertisers to keep happy — which is exactly why it can be built around what listeners want instead of what a business deck demands. It also means the roadmap is small and human, and that your voice genuinely moves it.
Independence is a feature here, not a slogan: Riffiter doesn't sell your data, and your listening history is kept for you, never handed to anyone else.

What you can do here
- 01
Rate everything
Albums and individual tracks, in half-star steps from 0.5 to 5. Quick enough to rate in a tap, precise enough to actually mean something.
- 02
Keep a listening diary
Connect Spotify or import your Last.fm history and Riffiter remembers every album you play — a private record of your year in sound, kept for you, not sold to anyone.
- 03
Write reviews
A line or a thousand words. The review rides with your rating, so the ones that matter stay attached to the record.
- 04
Build lists
Make ordered, shareable lists — best of the year, a perfect Sunday, a starter pack for a friend — and like and follow other people's.
- 05
Follow people who hear what you hear
A feed of what the people you trust are rating and discovering, plus charts, genres, years, and editorial guides to dig through.
- 06
Log the live stuff
Mark concerts you're going to and the ones you were at, browse setlists and venues, and keep a diary of every show — music isn't only the recording.
New to it? Start here — or just browse the charts and rate the first thing you recognize.
Tell us what you want
This is the important part. Riffiter is being built in the open, by one person, for you — so don't hold back. Whatever you wish it could do, whatever's missing, whatever's broken: write it down. We read every single message, and the best ideas come straight from the people using it.
