26 of the 50 off Pitchfork's 2017 IDM list, the ones I've actually sat through. Marked on drum programming only, since that's the one thing on these records I'm qualified to grade. Dark Energy is the only footwork record they let in and it's top of the class.

All 26 records that won Best Rap Album from 2000 to 2025, tiered on who they got me through and not on what they did for the culture. Recovery sitting next to Fantasy is on purpose. That album found me in a bad year, and him getting clean out loud on a record mattered more to me than half the classics. I know what Stankonia is. I just never lived in it.

Every song on it, all seventeen. Sicko Mode in C and I'll take the heat, it's three songs taped together and none of them gets to finish. Top tier is wherever the drums and the low end actually lock up, which on this record happens less than people remember.

Ordered by how often they come down off it, so Rumours first. *The embarrassment is mostly about Barry Manilow. The Caesars have earned their three spots and I won't apologise for any of them.
