Wasn't much interested in Mac Miller's work before this, but as many I was drawn to the album due to the acclaim it's receiving - an acclaimed posthumous album is not constantly happening. And I can say i'm pleasently surprised by how this sounds - it's a very relaxing album, with soft melodies and a sparse production with lots of empty spaces, which is one of its major winning points, as the melodies are allowed to breath and coexist gracefully inside these songs and these empty spaces are used in a very texturally enjoyable way, giving the album a comfortable atmosphere - even busier songs as the synth-based ones or the more hip-hop-oriented comes out as very relaxing and captivating, with Miller's flow and lazy-sounding vocals being the perfect compliment to these transparent and delicious melodies.

About
Circles is the sixth studio album by American rapper Mac Miller. It was being worked on by Miller before his death in 2018, and was released posthumously on January 17, 2020, by Warner Records. Production was completed by Jon Brion. Background At the time of his death on September 7, 2018, Miller was "well into" the recording process of Circles. It was intended to be a companion album to Swimming (2018), with "two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle" and the concept being "swimming in circles". Jon Brion, who worked with Miller on the album, completed production "based on his time and conversations" with Miller. Circles was announced by Miller's family via a note on his Instagram account on January 8, 2020. It was released by Warner Records on January 17, 2020. Singles The lead single, "Good News", was released on January 9, 2020, alongside an accompanying music video directed by Anthony Gaddis and Eric Tilford. The video features imagery of Miller in an abstract world with colorful animated landscapes.
