Whenever the first single dropped for this record I was so excited and then I listened and I remember just sitting in my chair with my literal jaw on the floor. This album did not sound anything like what I would have expected and it was fun to listen to it as it was still fresh. ROSALÍA shows us into a world dripping with inspiration from opera and classical music but so so infinitely her that it’s beautiful to behold. The themes of the album are divinity and the divine living within us. Although I imagine our beliefs are very different there was a lot I found beautiful. Beyond the lyrics, the pop and electronic mix so beautifully with the classical instrumentation that it’s like my brain is being kissed. “Porcelena” is a rare moment of tension in the album from a lyrical standpoint and the music perfectly fits it. ROSALÍA’s voice is godly, it’s glorious, it’s profound, it’s so many things. The extra languages is such a cool touch. I think this album will be timeless for me and I love it so so much!
