I know that this is controversial but it is my honest opinion and feelings about the album. I feel like on this album, Phoebe does a great job capturing an emotion and feeling but for the first 3/4 of the album just keeps repeating that feeling and emotion over and over without much uniqueness or shift. For me personally, after the first couple songs it becomes a bit of a slog to get through. That’s not to say I hate it or don’t see why people like it. I don’t fully understand the obsession (maybe it’s something in the lyrics I’m missing) but I still think it’s a pretty quality album if not re

Each time I listen to this album I get a little bit more. It was a little intimidating the first time I heard it as I was just getting into music analyzation. But each subsequent listen I really started to see the artistry poking through. There’s a lot that could be said here that smarter, more knowledgeable, and wordier people have already said but I do really like this album.

I will always have love and a certain level of nostalgia for this album. It’s the first record I ever bought on vinyl and for good reason. Almost every song on this album makes me happy in a new way. I recognize that this album doesn’t absolutely break boundaries nor will it blow everyone’s mind, however that doesn’t make it any less special to me. The title track is still pretty mind-blowing to me, and there are so many gems on this album. So many songs I will think of and come back to or rediscover and find a new reason to pour more love on this album. The only reason I can’t give this a per

I didn’t love this when I first heard it but it quickly became my favorite album of the year (so far) I really can listen to this on repeat. I think it’s such a good mix of rock, electronic, and experimental. It’s like Boarding House Reach got some more rock injected into it. The experimental tracks are fire like “Into the Twilight” and the more typical tracks are still great like “Morning, Noon, and Night”. A lot of these tracks became high-ranking for me. Also the rolling theme is great and adds to the value of the album without being distracting. The only reason this album isn’t perfect for

This was the album that hooked me on to The White Stripes, the song “Red Rain” on particular. Although it’s no longer my favorite album of theirs, I think it deserves just as much love as any album in their discography. It has so many sounds that play off of Jack and Meg’s style while still sounding so fun and authentic. I know some people really don’t like Jack’s look during this phase of their career but I think it’s so fitting and just cool. Also if you at all like this album, The White Stripes, or even just rock you HAVE to listen to this live show: https://youtu.be/l5wkTdVjE1s It’s mostl

Upon first listen this album was just ok. There were some songs I really liked like Roses, Gold Digger, and Diamonds. But there was also a lot that were just ok or even a little boring to me. I’m sure some deeper stuff may have been lost on me and it definitely is still a good album but I wasn’t having a bunch of fun listening to it (at least not like I did for College Dropout). I think the music and flow in general just wasn’t my style and felt a little bland to me. It’s probably just that it wasn’t terribly stimulating. It may change over time and I might like it upon a second listen but for
