Jackson Futrell on Happier Than Ever

I will always have love and a certain level of nostalgia for this album. It’s the first record I ever bought on vinyl and for good reason. Almost every song on this album makes me happy in a new way. I recognize that this album doesn’t absolutely break boundaries nor will it blow everyone’s mind, however that doesn’t make it any less special to me. The title track is still pretty mind-blowing to me, and there are so many gems on this album. So many songs I will think of and come back to or rediscover and find a new reason to pour more love on this album. The only reason I can’t give this a perfect 5 is that I recognize at least one or two songs are just ok or odd. But never will that change my love for this album.
