Still incredible how Stevie does it. So many songs he writes are just incredible and there are multiple great ones off of this record. However, as much as I did enjoy this album I didn’t enjoy it as much the last two Stevie Wonder albums. The amazing talent, great song writing, great lyrics, great sounds, and so on are all still there but I think I just didn’t enjoy it as much. I think there wasn’t any songs that just blew me away or maybe it was just the fact that the album as whole didn’t just hit like the other two. Still an amazing album and still worth listening to again but worth noting that it’s probably my least favorite Stevie Wonder record I listen to so far. I feel like saying that makes the album sound like it’s not that good, but it’s still is really good. I feel like for every pretty good song there is a really good song so I think it evens out. Favorite song? Golden Lady/Higher Ground

About
Innervisions is the sixteenth studio album by American musician Stevie Wonder, released August 3, 1973 on Motown Records; a landmark recording of his "classic period". The nine tracks of Innervisions encompass a wide range of themes and issues: from drug abuse in "Too High", through social anger in "Living for the City", to love in the ballads "All in Love is Fair" and "Golden Lady". As with many of Stevie Wonder's albums, the lyrics, composition and production are almost entirely his own work, with the ARP synthesizer used prominently throughout the album. The instrument was a common motif among musicians of the time because of its ability to construct a complete sound environment. Wonder was the first black artist to experiment with this technology on a mass scale, and Innervisions was hugely influential on the subsequent future of commercial black music. He also played all or virtually all instruments on six of the album's nine tracks, making most of Innervisions a representative one-man band.
