I never really followed Tinashe. I only put this on because of the hype, everyone was calling it one of the best albums of the year and I got curious. Two listens in, I still don't get what the fuss is about. The production is clearly well worked on, I'll give it that. Good beats, a couple of really smart transitions, and she can sing. But it never comes together as an album for me. 16 tracks and I couldn't tell you where it's going, every song feels like it came from a different session. It's not boring, nothing just grabbed me. When it ended, I honestly couldn't remember much of it. Maybe I came in expecting something else, or maybe the praise is way over the top. Either way I don't hear what everyone else is hearing.
