Maeta, born Maeta Hall on March 16, 2000, in Indianapolis, Indiana, is an American R&B, pop, and soul singer-songwriter. Raised in an artistic family—her mother a painter and her father a drummer—she developed a passion for music early on. Influenced by SZA, Jhené Aiko, Kehlani, and Bryson Tiller, she gained attention through covers on SoundCloud. In 2019, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career, releasing her debut EP, Do Not Disturb, which earned praise for its emotional depth and soothing melodies, particularly the single "Babygirl." In 2021, her album When I Hear Your Name showcased her growth, delving into personal and introspective themes. She followed with the Habits EP, exploring toxic relationships and daily struggles with newfound confidence. In June 2024, she collaborated with Kaytranada on the dance-infused Endless Night EP, featuring tracks like "DJ Got Me," a nod to Indeep’s classic. Signed to Roc Nation and inked to a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music, Maeta joined Chris Brown’s 11:11 tour in 2024. Her distinctive voice and polished productions cement her as a rising star in contemporary R&B.
