No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith (Live / Deluxe Edition) cover

muddyroom’s review of the albumNo Sleep 'Til Hammersmith (Live / Deluxe Edition)

Motörhead · 2026

The 40th anniversary expansion actually earns its box: new remaster off the original tapes, plus full unreleased shows from Newcastle and Leeds that finally put the whole Bomber tour on record instead of just the highlight reel. None of the padded-reissue-with-nothing-new nonsense I usually complain about, the soundcheck cuts (Stay Clean, Limb from Limb, Iron Horse) are genuinely worth owning. No motorik hypnosis here, obviously, Lemmy's not that guy, but put the headphones on for the remaster and Fast Eddie's guitar sits somewhere it never did on the old CD transfer. 8.

Rare that one of these boxes earns its keep past the fold-out poster. 1981, and those unreleased Newcastle and Leeds shows still leave most of what I was spinning that year sounding polite.

Anyway, the soundcheck cuts are the only part of it I'd play twice, by the time you're on the second full show you've heard that setlist four times over and the tapes stop being a discovery.
