Hello cover

Marcus Vinicius’s review of the songHello

Adele · 25

"Hello" feels so stereotypically Adele that it sounds like a parody of herself - everything that she did right on "Rolling in the Deep" is thrown out of the window - she belts, but the subtlety? Out, she yells in a suffocating fashion, on the most Celine Dion-esque way possible, the production doesn't punctuate the other elements of the song, the strings are so obfuscated that we barely notice them there, the overproduction turns the other elements of the song into something bleak and useless - the song feels like a chorus that was stretched to oblivion, while Adele's delivery sounds contrived and completely unsincere, without an ounce of bittersweetness or true sadness, but just over-sanitized and manufactured emotion, and to top it off it goes on for 5 terrifying minutes of overproduction and unsincere belting.
