Jackson Futrell on Atrocity Exhibition

The sounds on this album were definitely very odd but very fascinating. I think that for me, on the first listen, by far the most fascinating part was the music and how unique and insane it sounded. It really put you in another headspace and made you feel kind of like you were going crazy. I couldn’t really tell if there was a running theme throughout which is some thing I expected going into this album but I think I might’ve just misunderstood what people were talking about. I didn’t love the way that Danny Brown rapped personally and in the beginning it got on my nerves a lot. But I got used to it after a little while and it wasn’t as horrible as the first couple tracks. I think this album is pretty quality but the first listen didn’t blow me away or anything either.
