Jackson Futrell on Spiderland

I feel like as far as Math Rock goes, this is just high-quality Math Rock. It does a fantastic job of sounding unique and interesting while also still sounding enjoyable and fun. I think it held its emotion well, and the fact that all the songs were long didn’t really bother me which is hard to pull off. My only complaints is firstly that singer kind of got buried in the mix I think a couple times. also the last song, which isn’t even really a song, doesn’t really make sense to me. I’m sure it serves some artistic purpose, but it kind of just feels like 15 minutes a white noise with no real purpose. Favorite song? Washer
