Jackson Futrell on RUSH!

I definitely don’t think it’s as bad, but I also do not think it good for most of the songs I just felt like there was some thing missing. I’m not sure if it was the fact that the guitar work just seemed kind of buried like in the background rather than the forefront or maybe it was the fact that every song sounded really similar and had a similar vibe I’m not sure. I can’t say definitely. One thing I have against this album is the writing is poor. It just gave me the idea that maybe whoever was writing it spoke more Italian than they did English and so they didn’t have a lot of ability to talk about really deep things cause it was just really simple concepts for songs, and it just wasn’t working for me most of the time. Again, I kind of felt like a lot of things were similar. I don’t know if that’s because they were all going for the same vibe, which is less of a bad thing or it was because they just weren’t well written I’m not sure. There was one song I didn’t like which was “Blah Blah Blah” which was very annoying, very repetitive and didn’t even make sense. I was very glad when it was over. On positive side I do feel like this album was punchy and I felt like it is usually pretty exciting and wasn’t boring by any stretch. I do like the guy’s voice even if he doesn’t have that much range it seems. Overall just kind of a “meh” album probably wouldn’t come back to it unless if I felt like I missed something.
