Jackson Futrell on Something Beautiful

First listen vibe: man, this album really did live up to the hype. This is one of the best pop albums. I heard this year easily. I have to say that there’s a lot to be said about how impressive it is that Miley was able to pull this off having never really done something like this at least to my knowledge but from what I’ve heard about the album sounds like she had got a lot of very talent to help. Anyway, this album really knows what it is and pulls it off so well I think there was so many grand moments like the chorus on “Something Beautiful”, but there was also so many funky moments and sad moments and moments that felt like I was in a disco. I love Miley‘s raspy voice and her ability to still hit notes while giving that very human feeling. The mixing was great. Everything was clear when it needed to be and distorted when it fitted itself, and the instrumentation was just awesome. There were a few tacky lines here and there, but for the most part, her writing was on point and really just gave you this feeling of love as something that desires to be divine. Really really great album
