a live record, so the question is whether you can hear the building, and mostly you cannot. the mics are all on the band. between songs there is applause and then a clean cut into the next count in, so the gaps are empty rather than played, which in a room that size is a waste. the songs hold up fine. three chords and a foot stomp, done in front of a full house with nothing to hide behind, which is harder than the people who do it make it look. rivers and roads at the end goes where every live version of it goes and by the last chorus they are LOUDER than a band this soft ever needs to be. i went under during winter song, eleven in, and i mean that kindly. the jimmie rodgers cover is the one i would keep. a november record.
