mca were busy trying to get out of her contract and never pushed this, which is most of the reason nobody remembers it. the argentina cover is the one thing anyone ever brings up and fair enough, it's the only place she stops being polite. rest of it is soft to the point of vanishing. i like it soft, so.

soft to vanishing is a real risk when there's basically no percussion to grab onto. argentina's the only cut where anything actually snaps. anyway

argentina's the one everyone picks but it's the track where the vocal steps forward and goes dry. everywhere else she's sitting way back in the reverb and that's the whole record for me, don't really want her pushing
