Foo Fighters open for AC/DC at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Friday, October 2. It is the second time this month that Dave Grohl's band has played before AC/DC.

A show moved by the weather

AC/DC were due at MetLife on September 25. That night the show was called off because of severe wind warnings in the New York and New Jersey area. Tickets stay valid for the new date, and the October 2 show is now the last night of AC/DC's 2026 North American tour. Foo Fighters were announced as the opening act on September 29.

St. Louis, September 8

The first time came three weeks earlier. On September 8 in St. Louis, Foo Fighters opened for AC/DC in place of The Pretty Reckless. No official reason was given for the change. On stage that night, Grohl told the crowd that a full tour with AC/DC would be great.

Where it started for Grohl

Grohl was 11 when he saw AC/DC's concert film Let There Be Rock in 1980. In the statement announcing St. Louis, he said he watched it "from the edge of my seat the entire time, it was like nothing I had ever experienced before." St. Louis was the first time he shared a stage with the band.
