Billian Holiday may have once had an amazing and beautiful voice but on this album, meant to be a come back for the singer, she sounds like an old woman who has a vry limited range. Turns out using heroin is bad for your singing capabilities and her scratchy voice heard hear tells many sad tales that a former junkie could relate to. With a complete lack of rhythm section I’m immediatly turned off and her voice doesn’t do much to keep my attention. I can’t imagine this album registering with much of anyone if it weren’t for her name. Bottom line: skip it

Lady in Satin is an album by jazz singer Billie Holiday released in 1958 on Columbia Records, catalogue CL 1157 in mono and CS 8048 in stereo. It is the penultimate album completed by the singer and last released in her lifetime (her final album, Billie Holiday, being recorded in March 1959 and released just after her death).
