mean girls carries this for me. it's the one that sounds like it came off an r&b record and not out of a dance class, and the harmonies on the chorus are stacked tight enough that i went back to count the voices (six, i counted wrong twice). gabriela is a jolene story with a spanish verse dropped in and it's a lot of fun. gnarly i understand less but i've stopped skipping it. pitchfork called the whole thing ordinary, which is fair for maybe two of these songs and not that one

gnarly makes sense once you hear it as a big beat track. one chant, one drum hit, and they refuse to develop either, which is the appeal.

Gnarly is a cheer routine with a beat under it and that's exactly why it works. Mean Girls is lovely and could be on anybody's album.
