Dopamine Chamber keeps the habit Fontaines D.C. have had since A Hero's Death: each album leaves the last one behind. Reviewers hear New Order and Depeche Mode now, where Dogrel had Dublin guitar noise. Paste called it a DLC pack for Romance and Rolling Stone UK gave it five stars, and the five stars are closer. Start with "Where Is Gone?". Rosalía sent her vocal back within 48 hours, the first time anyone outside the band has sung on a Fontaines song. Then "Marianne", the first single. Four stars and not five, because Romance still has the better songs, but five albums in seven years without a repeat is rare.
