2:55 and the low end sits at one level the whole way through. Kick and guitars arrive glued together in the first bar, so the chorus has nothing left to open into. Verses are the better half, there's some air around the vocal (I came in ready to write off the guitar and it turns out to be the only thing here with any grain on it). The last minute finally lets go and then it's over, which is backwards, that was the bridge. Flat for an anger song.
The minute-plus crawl into Feet Don't Fail Me is all negative space and promise; once the drums arrive, Ronson's flat, tight mix keeps the whole record from breathing. The Evil Has Landed finally gives the bass some room (briefly), and that's where Villains clicks for me.
