al is 65 and still sounds like he wants to fight the room. goddamn white trash is the one, keenan's guitar exactly where it belongs and not an inch further. the back half is the same trick over and over and he knows it. sixteen records in and nobody gets in front of him.
goes from piano waltz to breakdown without losing the tune, and the guitar tone stays thick right through the clean part (most of this lot thin it out there). song about running out of time that isn't mourning anything, which i didn't expect. ten.
the guitar figure in lighthouse is almost nostalgic, but the bridge/outro keeps it from becoming a guardians recap. seven.
