Jatavia Shakara Johnson, known as JT, born December 3, 1992, in Miami, is an American rapper from Carol City and Liberty City. She formed the hip-hop duo City Girls with Yung Miami in 2017, gaining fame with their viral hit Fuck Dat Nigga. Their mixtape Period (2018) and album Girl Code (2018), featuring singles Twerk (feat. Cardi B) and Act Up, propelled them to stardom. They released City on Lock (2020) and RAW (2023) before parting ways. As a solo artist, JT dropped No Bars (2023), Okay (2024), and her mixtape City Cinderella (2024), collaborating with artists like Doechii (Alter Ego) and Kali Uchis (Muñekita). Her Southern trap style, with bold punchlines, emphasizes independence. Despite serving time (2018–2020) for fraud, she bounced back with JT First Day Out. In 2023, she launched her brand thegirljtworld. JT continues to rise as a key figure in female rap.
