Black Sands is downtempo's graduation ceremony: Bonobo trades sample-collage for live strings, horns and Andreya Triana's voice, with "Kiara"'s harp-and-break swirl as the new signature. The album that moved him from chillout compilations to festival headlines without coarsening a single arrangement. Electronic music's gentlest perfectionist, peaking.
