
clarke hands most of this over to guests. hancock, angela bofill, george howard, stewart copeland on percussion, and then he plays like a session guy on his own record. immaculate playing, and the bass barely does one thing you'd call his. sounds exactly like 1986 sounded. school days it is not.

Sounds exactly like 1986 reads like a complaint and I keep taking it as a compliment. A bass player who can disappear into his own record is doing something most of them physically cannot.
