Five minutes and it spends three of them not giving you the chorus. Normally house piano does nothing for me, but when the choir lands on top of it the thing stops being a dance record for about eight bars and I have rewound that part more than I want to admit. Kid Harpoon producing again should have made this the safe option and instead it is the furthest out he has gone. Everyone is reaching for Robyn on this one and I would rather leave that sentence where it is.
Fifty-two years since Muscle of Love and Ezrin left the edges on this instead of sanding them down. Didn't expect that. Money Screams had me checking whether I'd already heard it somewhere, which is the callback doing its job. A couple of these are the band reaching back for a version of themselves and you can hear the reach. Then Buxton turns up on What Happened to You off an old tape and for a minute it stops being a reunion record. I've sat through comebacks that took the safe option at every fork, could name four off the top of my head. This mostly doesn't.
