Joanne gets called the underrated one now, the album where she stopped performing and actually wrote something. Nine years of giving it another go and it lands the same way every time. Million Reasons is the biggest song on here and it's a writing-camp ballad with her name stuck on top, take the vocal off and it's somebody's third single out of Nashville. Dancin' in Circles is the only track where anyone sounds like they chose anything and it's buried at five. Stripping the production back is not the same as having something to say.
