a punk record made by people who clearly practiced. verlaine's tone is so thin and wiry, nothing else sounds like it.

the practiced part is the whole thing, and torn curtain actually finishes instead of just stopping, which almost nothing else from 1977 bothers with. how much of that do you put on lloyd though?
