Daily song guessing game
One second is the whole clue.
A single track, six attempts, and a drop that grows with every miss. Skip if the opening second tells you nothing, but a skip costs an attempt like anything else.

- How do I play Needle?
- You hear the first second of a track and name it. Six attempts, and each miss or skip unlocks a longer drop: one second, then two, four, seven, eleven and sixteen. Guessing early is the brag, so a skip costs you the same as a wrong answer.
- Is this a Heardle alternative?
- Yes. Heardle shut down in 2023 and this is the same daily ritual: one song for everyone, a growing snippet, and a result grid you can paste anywhere. The songs come from the Riffiter catalog rather than a chart feed, so the pool leans toward records people actually rate.
- Where do the songs come from?
- Each answer is a track from a well-known full-length album in the Riffiter catalog, drawn from the opening slots where the singles usually sit. Answers do not repeat for months, and the audio is the same 30-second preview clip you can play across the rest of the site.
- Can I play by genre or with my own list?
- Yes, in free play. Pick a genre and every round comes from that corner of the catalog. Signed in, you can play from one of your own lists instead, so the answers are records you already chose. Neither counts toward a streak. The daily round stays one song for everyone.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Your streak and stats live in your browser. A free account adds them to your Riffiter profile, puts your wins in your followers' feeds, and lets you appear on the Play leaderboards.
