The sister album that chose mood over event: evermore extends folklore's fictional turn deeper into Dessner territory — "champagne problems"' refused proposal, "no body, no crime"'s country-noir murder, "marjorie"'s grief. Less celebrated, more relaxed, arguably stranger. The B-side album that a decade earlier would have been a career peak.

Evermore is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released through Republic Records on December 11, 2020, less than five months after Swift's eighth studio album, Folklore. Evermore is a "sister record" to its predecessor, both being surprise albums announced on social media hours before release. Evermore features guest appearances from American bands Bon Iver, Haim, and the National. The lead single, "Willow", premiered with a self-directed music video coinciding with the album's launch.
