Lisa Mitchell

"Lisa Helen Mitchell" is an English-born Australian singer-songwriter. Lisa was born on 22 March 1990 in Canterbury, England. The Mitchell family moved to Australia when she was three and she grew up near Albury, New South Wales. Her musical journey began at age twelve when she started taking guitar lessons with a focus on rock and folk, not long after, she fronted a cover band called Chrome - predominately playing in local cafes. Her real exposure though came at the age of sixteen when she auditioned for Australian Idol. After a solid but unsuccessful run (she finished sixth in 2006), during which time the 16-year old Mitchell performed several of her own songs. Mitchell took the route of performing for fans via her MySpace page, self-releasing an EP and eventually earning three ARIA nominations for her debut album 2009's Wonder.
