BIGBANG

BIGBANG formed in Seoul in 2006 and spent the next decade rewriting what a K-pop group was allowed to be, largely by writing its own records. G-Dragon produced and wrote much of the catalogue, and the group pulled hip-hop, electronic music and pop ballads into the same run of singles, from "Lies" and "Haru Haru" through "Fantastic Baby" and "Bang Bang Bang". The line-up today is G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung. Seungri retired from entertainment in 2019, T.O.P left in 2023, and all three remaining members have since moved on from YG Entertainment, the label that raised them. The group did not disband through any of it. They returned as a trio at Coachella in April 2026, where Daesung called the set a reset rather than a reunion, and G-Dragon announced a 20th-anniversary world tour to follow later in the year.
