About

Nathaniel "Nate" Rathbun (born January 11, 1992) is an American DJ, record producer, and musician better known by his stage name Audien. Hailing from Mystic, Connecticut, U.S., Audien is a central figure in EDM, specializing in an emotionally charged and uplifting style of progressive house and trance music. He began his career in 2009 and has since become a Grammy-nominated artist who has consistently charted on Billboard's Dance and Pop charts. Audien's breakthrough came with his first single, Rise & Shine (2009), released on Flashover Recordings. He gained significant support from major DJs including Tiësto, Above & Beyond, and Armin van Buuren, and in 2013, his track Wayfarer was the first song played on Above & Beyond Group Therapy. In 2015, Audien was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for his remix of Bastille's Pompeii. That same year, he released the singles Insomnia, which topped the US Dance Charts, and the crossover hit Something Better featuring Lady Antebellum (later Lady A), which peaked at number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and cracked the Billboard Top 40 Pop Songs chart.

His debut LP Escapism was released in 2019. In 2022, he launched the Progressive House Never Died brand and sold-out tour, followed by the release of his sophomore album, First Love, on Armada Music in 2025.
