earl and mike over a surf gang beat, i mean come on. dusty little loop, the two of them mumbling half under their breath, and it's done before you've even locked in, so you just run it back. slums crew still make the murkiest rap out there sound easy. keep landing on this one off the double album.

freddie at this stage in his career wasn't chasing anybody and it shows. the voice is still that warm buttery thing, all ache in the grain, and he just lets it carry the whole record. yeah a couple of the ballads run together by the back half. doesn't really matter. put it on late with the lights low and it does the one thing he's always done better than anyone.
