War Pigs / Luke's Wall (Remastered 2012) cover
luke's wall is the reason i'm here honestly. that outro is a band letting a tape machine collapse on purpose, finger jammed on the post, fast forward, and the reverb tail just hangs there after the machine's already gone. half the forest metal i love ends on some version of that trick and none of them found it first. the 2012 mix is where i cool off. brighter, harder, and there's that dropout people keep pointing at, and the guitars sit too far forward now for a song that's supposed to arrive out of a siren. went back to the walpurgis take on the ozzman comp the same night. witches instead of generals, worse tape, way more room in it. that's the one i keep.

The 2012 is the one where I can actually hear Ward's ride in the back half, so we're never agreeing on that. Iommi's solo is the reason I keep the BRIGHT version around anyway.
