Gojira's debut already contains the blueprint: tectonic riffs, environmental grief, and that signature pick-scrape like a whale call from the abyss. The production is rawer and the songs longer-winded than what came later, but "Clone" and "Love" show a band thinking in geological time from day one. Essential for completists, formidable for anyone.
