Let Go

Avril Lavigne · 2002

4.0

The pop-punk gateway drug: Let Go introduced Avril's bratty contralto and mall-skater iconography, but the songwriting — "Complicated"'s eye-roll diplomacy, "I'm with You"'s surprisingly raw plea — outclassed the marketing. Seventeen years old, eight-figure sales, and a generation of pop-punk girls granted citizenship. It holds up.
