.5: The Gray Chapter processes Paul Gray's death the only way Slipknot knows — at full volume: "Skeptic"'s tribute fury, "Goodbye"'s slow procession, "The Devil in I" as radio-ready grief. The first album without their bassist-founder is overlong but genuinely felt. Mourning as percussion, which for this band is sincerity.
