Die Lit is rage minimalism perfected: Pi'erre Bourne's video-game synths and Carti's baby-voice ad-libs reduced rap to pure texture and momentum. "Shoota" and "R.I.P." don't develop — they loop, and the loop is the high. Half the underground spent the next five years inside this album's sound design.
