AYA

Aya Nakamura · 2020

3.0

AYA banks the Nakamura formula: short tracks, rubbery Afro-pop production and hook-stacked writing that needs no translation. "Jolie nana" and "Doudou" extend the Djadja dynasty efficiently. Less revelatory than Nakamura — the surprise is gone, the craft remains. French pop's most imitated sound, administered by its inventor.
