El Dorado is Shakira in maintenance mode elevated by chemistry: "Chantaje" with Maluma glides on her eccentric phrasing, and the Carlos Vives collab "La Bicicleta" radiates easy warmth. Half the record chases reggaeton currents rather than setting them — but her weird, wonderful voice never fully behaves, and that saves it.
