In Utero cover

In Utero

Nirvana · 1993

4.5

The anti-Nevermind: Albini's room mics and Cobain's self-laceration made In Utero deliberately harder to love, and time has revealed that as its strength. "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies" smuggle melody through the abrasion; "Serve the Servants" opens with the bluntest line about fame ever written. A band sabotaging its own success into art.
