Yeezus

Kanye West · 2013

4.5

Kanye's great refusal: after MBDTF's maximalist apology, Yeezus strips everything to industrial slabs, acid-house screams and provocations sharpened to weapons-grade. "Black Skinhead" and "New Slaves" still sound like alarms going off. Ugly on purpose, brilliant beyond argument — the most influential abrasive album of its decade.
