Home of the Strange

"Home of the Strange" is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Young the Giant, released on August 12, 2016 on the Fueled by Ramen label. Home of the Strange deals with the band's immigrant history and American identity. Lead singer Sameer Gadhia is a first generation American of Indian heritage. The track Amerika was inspired by Franz Kafka's unfinished novel of the same name. Upon its release, Home of the Strange was met with generally positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from critics, the album received an average score of 76, based on 6 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".
