About
"American Ride" is the eighth full length studio album from American musician Willie Nile. It was released in June 2013 under Loud & Proud Records. Nile wrote or co-wrote 11 of the album's original 12 tracks, and all three of its special edition bonus numbers. The lone cover is a wailing version of the late Jim Carroll's "People Who Died," sung in tribute to the author and Nile's brother John. The decision to release American Ride through Loud & Proud Records was unexpected as Nile was originally planning on self-publishing through money raised on PledgeMusic.com. The decision to sign onto a record label occurred after he was approached by Tom Lipsky, president of Loud & Proud Records.
