The chrysalis album: Wolf is where Tyler's shock-rap shell cracks open to reveal the jazz chords and N.E.R.D. worship underneath — "Answer" calls a dead father's phone, "IFHY" prototypes the love-struck synth balladry IGOR would perfect. Still unruly, still juvenile in spots, suddenly and unmistakably a composer.
