About
The Alexandrov Ensemble is a Russian military ensemble of singers, musicians and dancers. The first training Alexandrov Ensemble had 12 soldiers artists and performed for the first time in 1928 under the direction of Aleksandr Aleksandrov, a music professor at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1929, the Ensemble toured in remote areas of the USSR to support the morale of the troops assigned to the construction of the railway network in the Far East. In 1933, there were 300 members divided into three units: a male choir, an orchestra and a group of dancers. During World War II, the Choir gave over 1500 performances on the two Soviet fronts, to entertain the troops ready to be deployed on the battlefield, in the trenches or airfields, as well as in hospitals .dropoff window The Sacred War will be one of the most important songs. In 1946, after the death of Aleksander Aleksandrov, his son Boris Alexandrov took over as music director of the choir until his retirement in 1987.
