Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, better known as Oxlade, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who has risen to prominence in the music industry. Born in Lagos, he ventured into the music scene in 2018, catching the attention of A&R executive Bizzle Osikoya, leading to his subsequent deals with The Plug and Troniq Music. Oxlade's musical style is a blend of Afro-fusion and experimental music expressions, colloquially known as 'Alte', merged with mainstream musical elements. His smooth, captivating vocals combined with lyrics often delivered in English and Pidgin English, mainly explore contemporary topics like love. His breakthrough came with the 2020 hit single "Away", featured in his EP "Oxygene". The song, gaining global recognition, was featured on Rolling Stone's 50 best songs of 2020 list. Numerous successful releases followed, cementing his standing in the music industry, including collaborations on songs like "Interest" with Dolapo and Ms Banks, and solo hits like "Ojuju".
